About Christian Science

Our church is one of many branch churches of the Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.  The Mother Church has a robust website that goes into great detail about the many aspects of Christian Science that you may find of interest.  Check it out at www.ChristianScience.com.

The pastor of the Christian Science church is the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.   Excerpts from these two books are read at our services.

The church does not employ clergy.  But there is a strong support system of professionals who are self-employed.  These include Christian Science practitioners, teachers, and nurses.  On www.ChristianScience.com you’ll find a thorough explanation of what they can do for you.  A first step is to go to this website to learn about their roles and qualifications.  Then you can find one of these individuals through the Journal Directory (also on the same website or click through “Journal” to the left on this website).  You can find the directory in printed form, published monthly, in the Christian Science Journal.  You can find the Journal in our Reading Room at 145 East Michigan Avenue, Jackson.
